BAIN & COMPANY PROMOTES PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT EXPERT TIAAN MOOLMAN TO ITS SOUTH AFRICAN PARTNER GROUP
New York - March 24, 2010 - Veteran performance improvement expert Tiaan Moolman has been promoted to the partnership at Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm. His appointment was announced today by Vittorio Massone, head of Bain & Company's South African operations. Moolman is based in the firm's Johannesburg office.
Mr. Moolman joined the firm in 1995 and has worked in several offices, including London and Sydney, before permanently relocating to the Johannesburg office in 1999. He advises multinational and regional companies across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on developing and implementing sustainable performance turnaround strategies for multi-national and local mining houses, retailers and consumer goods companies. Additionally, he has expertise in corporate and business unit strategies, organizational design, merger evaluations, and private equity.

Mr. Moolman earned a Bachelor of Commerce, cum laude, and postgraduate degrees in Finance and Law from Rand Afrikaans University. He also qualified as a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and has served as a business plan evaluator and final round judge for Technoserve's Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
Prior to joining Bain, Mr. Moolman worked at Ernst & Young as an audit manager. He also worked at the law firm Webber Wentzel Bowens as their Financial Manager.
Mr. Moolman is the co-author of "Spotlight on Viability of SA Online Banking," which was published in Business Day in 2003. The article focused on challenges South African banks faced in developing sustainable Internet business models.
